  • 1972
    • Atlanta Capital Management’s institutional investment business is started by Frederick (Ted) Muller, the firm’s President and CEO.
  • 1987
    • Guy Palmer joins the board of Atlanta Capital as its only outside director. Bruce Fielitz joins Atlanta Capital after a multi-year consulting relationship with the firm; his previous position was Research Professor of Finance at Georgia State University.
  • 1990
    • Atlanta Capital’s operating principals sell the firm to Hill Samuel, a British merchant bank. At the time of the agreement, Atlanta Capital has approximately $3.0 billion in assets under management.
  • 1996
    • Chatham Capital Group is founded by Frederick (Ted) Muller, Guy Palmer and Bruce Fielitz in Savannah, Georgia after fulfilling their post buyout employment contracts for the purpose of managing their assets and assets of several close associates.
  • 1998
    • Frederick (Rick) Muller joins Chatham from Crawford Investment Counsel. Philip Palmer joins Chatham from Rockefeller & Company.
  • 2003
    • William (Bill) Fielitz joins Chatham from A.G. Edwards & Sons.
  • 2012
    • Currently, the firm has client relationships in multiple states and directly manages over $200 million in assets.
